Shetland Youth Dance Company offered talented young dancers the opportunity to develop and refine their contemporary dance technique and choreography skills.

There were performance opportunities throughout the year as well as the opportunity to work with local and visiting choreographers.

Sessions would usually take place on Mondays, with intensives happening during holidays or weekends throughout the year.

This course followed SQA framework ensuring transferable skills that can prepare young dancers for a career in the performing arts industries.

These sessions were aimed at those with dance experience and/or a commitment to learning. The aim of the group was to provide regular development alongside intensive sessions to make new works from visiting choreographers.
