Friday 30 August - Sunday 8 September
Shetland’s annual film festival is curated by celebrated film historian Linda Ruth Williams and film critic Mark Kermode, alongside our own Jenny Leask. It features a feast of film screenings, lectures and panel discussions involving national and international film industry professionals and film academics. Screenplay also has a strong local flavour, provided by the work of local film makers of all ages, and an outreach programme taking in community halls and education.
We are now open for submissions of Homemade short films for this year's festival! All kinds of films are welcome, but they must be suitable for general viewing, as the Home Made event appeals to a family audience, and be under four minutes long. Film makers must be Shetlanders by birth or residency, and entries are also welcome from Shetland students living south who are engaged in higher education. The deadline is Friday 26 July and submission forms can be obtained from Shetland Arts (email Kathy at email@example.com) or they can be downloaded below.
