Requirement: 4 days per month
Term: 12 months starting 1 April 2026
Location: Flexible (open to remote, hybrid or in-person)
Fee: £350 per day
The role will focus on strengthening core fundraising infrastructure, developing a robust grants pipeline, and preparing high-quality 5-figure funding applications aligned to Shetland Arts’ strategic priorities. This fundraiser will work closely with senior staff including the Chief Executive and current Fundraising Consultant.
Scope of Work

1. Case for Support: develop a clear, flexible case for support that can be adapted for different funders, ensuring alignment with Shetland Arts’ mission, programmes, community impact and strategic plans.
2. Grants Pipeline Development: an initial piece of work was completed recently to develop a prospect list. Using this research, the new fundraiser will develop a targeted grants pipeline, supplemented by ongoing research to identify new prospects. The pipeline development will include realistic income targets and strategic application phasing across the year.
3. Funding Applications: prepare and submit new grant applications, working collaboratively with staff to develop budgets, activity plans and supporting documentation
4. Stewardship, Reporting & Compliance: support the preparation of monitoring reports and final reports for funded projects and develop funder relationships through effective stewardship. Deliver reporting requirements internally as requested by the Chief Executive.
