Shetland Arts Programmers Kathryn will lead a workshop that can help develop your application skills, which are relevant for VACMA and other applications.

In the session, we will go over the VACMA application, and will answer any questions that you may have.

There will be two practical activities:

1 – Promoting and talking about your work. We will discuss this both in relation to marketing, as well as discussing your work conceptually.

2 – Photographing your work. For this topic, we ask you, if possible, to bring an example of your work and a smart phone or tablet with a camera. If you do not have either of these, we will have a selection of art/craft works and some iPads that you can use. We will work together to learn how to take photographs of your work to make them appropriate for application or marketing purposes.

We aim to pair artists and craftmakers up with one another, so that you can market one another’s work. We are doing this as we understand that it can often be difficult to talk about your own work, but easy to talk about somebody else’s. We hope that this will be a fun activity that will give you plenty of ideas of how to talk about your own work.

To confirm your attendance please email [email protected] by Monday 16th October. Places are limited so we recommend reserving your space early.

Tea and coffee will be provided.
