With less than two weeks to go until the start of Screenplay 2014, Shetland Arts’ annual film festival curated by Mark Kermode, Linda Ruth William, and Kathy Hubbard, actor and guest of the festival Steven Robertson says he’s really looking forward to coming back home to show two of his films and give a Q&A with Shetland audiences.

Steven said: “I am delighted to have been asked to attend this year's Screenplay. It means a great deal to me that they have chosen to screen 'Inside I'm Dancing' and 'Joyeux Noel' at this year’s festival. This year is the 10th anniversary of the release of 'Inside I'm Dancing,' and with this year also being the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, I can't think of a better time to have these two films shown again on the big screen.”

He added: “The fact that this is all happening back home in Shetland makes it all the more special and I am really looking forward to it."

Screenplay is Shetland Arts’ 8th annual celebration of the moving image and this year features over 95 events including 20 feature films, 6 documentary screenings, 3 workshops, 1 lecture, 11 Q&As, 2 film quizzes, 6 education screenings, 2 outreach events, 1 gig, 1 wild party, loads of local films, and short films galore.

Other guests at the festival will include Brian Cox, Clio Barnard, Gruff Rhys, Joanna Hogg, Lucinda Broadbent, Norina Mackey, Shelley Cobb, Susan Kemp, Dr Pasquale Iannone, Frederik Subej, and Robert Alan Jamieson.

Screenplay 2014 runs from Friday 29 August to Sunday 7 September. The full programme can be viewed online here. View the programme as a website online here. Booking for ticketed events at Screenplay is via Shetland Box Office at Mareel and/or Islesburgh, over the phone on 01595 745 555, or online at shetlandboxoffice.org and/or mareel.org.
