Following last week’s announcement of commissioned artists for the first phase of Refresh Now, Shetland Arts now welcome applications for commissions for commissions from performers or groups to reactivate The Garrison Theatre in April 2021.

In the next part of the programme, Shetland Arts are looking to commission four (4) productions for two (2) consecutive performances each at The Garrison Theatre in front of a live audience, restrictions permitting. The performances will take place at 5pm Friday and 2.30pm Saturday starting on Friday 2 April through to Saturday 24 April.

Graeme Howell, Chief Executive Officer of Shetland Arts, said “This next round of commissions gives performers and groups a chance to showcase new work on The Garrison Theatre stage. We hope to be able to present this work in front of a live audience and celebrate the live arts experience.”

Performances may be up to one hour in length and must comply with all Covid-19 Restrictions in place at the time. Performances will also be filmed and may be broadcast on social media.

Application information can be found at shetlandarts.org/refreshnow.

For any queries or support in composing an application, or if you would like this information in an alternative format, please email [email protected].

All applications should be made to Shetland Arts by Sunday 31 January.
