SHETLAND Arts has added a second date for local comedian Marjolein Robertson’s latest comedy show, Marj. Due to popular demand after the first date on Friday 17 May sold out, she will now also be performing in Mareel on Wednesday 15 May.

After a successful sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run as one of the top reviewed comedy shows of the entire festival, Marjolein Robertson's 'Marj' comes to Mareel to end her UK tour. Local comedian Marjolein, BBC New Comedy Awards and Funny Women Stage Awards Finalist, brings her twice award nominated hour of surreal stand-up and Shetland folktales.

As well as having its successful Fringe run, Marj was also shortlisted for the (ISH) Edinburgh Comedy Awards for Best Show and the Neurodivergent Divergent Review Awards for Best ADHD show.

"Pulling these three threads together to create such a cohesive show is an achievement many talented playwrights would be proud of. That it's also properly funny and proper stand-up shows Robertson is scaling new heights as a creator as well as a performer." ★★★★★ The List

"The light and shade that she blended together and captivated the audience with was spellbinding, there were times when the club roared with laughter, other occasions you could have heard a pin drop." ★★★★★ One4Review

"From the darkest moments, Robertson will find a punchline with defiant joy." ★★★★ The Quintessential

Tickets for Marj are £14 and available to purchase online here, in-person at the Box Office in Mareel, or by calling on 01595 745 500 during opening hours of 10am-9pm, Tuesday - Sunday.
