Mareel students showcase their skills in a great night of music and film!

Students on the Vocational Pathways, NC, HNC and BA courses in music and film are taught at Mareel in a partnership between Shetland Arts and Shetland College UHI. On Wednesday 20 June students from these courses will be taking the opportunity to share their talents with a wider audience. Audiences can expect a wide range of musical genres and styles during the performance, from chilled-out acoustic sets, electronic funk and trip-hop to heavy rock and metal. This year for the first time our film students will be showcasing their videos on the big screen in cinema one!

Students from these courses have gone on to progress through from the Vocational Pathways course up to the BA degree and also launched their own music or film careers. If you are interested in finding out more about the course we have regular Open Days where you can meet the tutors and have a tour around the state of the art facilities at Mareel.

Tickets for the Showcase are available now online, over the phone on 01595 745500 or in person at Mareel. More information on the courses can be found at shetlandarts.org/education/courses, for more details of upcoming Open Days please contact [email protected]
