Marissa Thereze is a passionate knitwear designer and tutor. Originally from Herefordshire, she graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA (Hons) in Creative Arts specialising in textiles, print making and drawing. Numerous exhibitions followed culminating in a solo show in her home town.
The last three years have seen the launch of Marissa Thereze Knitwear, which reflects her passion for both quality and fun, stating in her publicity ‘Made in England and not taking ourselves too seriously’. All items are designed, made and finished by Marissa and she is proud to say so. Her mantra is ‘the devil is in the detail’ so you will be hard pushed to find fault.
Each piece has been made on vintage knitting machines from her studio in Pembrokeshire using 100% Merino wool. Her current collections are inspired by Scandinavian design, vintage samplers and the geometry of Bauhaus. Her sumptuous knits extend into cosy colourful hot water bottle covers and cushions.
Popular with both men and women her textiles remain timeless wardrobe staples which transcend the seasons with a particular focus on quality and bold colour palettes.We are delighted to have her work for sale in the shop at Bonhoga Gallery.
