Shetland Arts have announced the next events in their Live at Lunch performance series, featuring Adam Guest on Saturday 12 June and FARA on Sunday 20 June. These will be live gigs, playing to a socially distanced audience in the Mareel auditorium.

With a Yorkshire burr and heartfelt songs, Adam Guest is a regular of the isles’ music scene. Having clocked up appearances at Celtic Connections and at festivals in Shetland and Yorkshire, his songs blend folk and blues influences with reflections on his native home of Barnsley. His debut EP 'Open The Book' was recorded with LAU sound engineer and Shetland Arts' recording studio's Tim Matthew and a string of musical pals since move moving to Shetland.

Bringing you filskit fiddles from Orkney, FARA brings together four leading musicians at the forefront of today’s young Scottish folk scene. Kristan Harvey, Jeana Leslie and Catriona Price’s three fiddles combine with Rory Matheson’s piano to produce a fiery sound rooted strongly in their upbringing among the music of Orkney. With a mixture of self-penned and traditional Orkney tunes as well as stunning vocals, Fara’s musical experiences and friendships produce an exciting and individual sound.

Adam Guest will play Mareel’s stage on Sat 12 Jun 2021 at at 1.30pm. FARA play at Mareel on Sun 20 June 2021 at 1.30pm. Tickets can be booked for Adam Guest here and FARA here, or by calling the Box Office on 01595 745 500 (Wednesday to Sunday, 10am – 10pm).
