Jono Sandilands, a graphic designer from Lerwick, recently showcased his first class acheiving final year project during the Gray’s School of Art Degree Show, part of Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

His project was a conceptual branding plan for Mareel; producing logos, marketing materials and the intriguing 'light box' inspired by the shape of the venue. Jono photographed the lightbox in areas around Shetland and interviewed local musicians and artists seated next to his curious creation to produce a short video and various print promotional materials.

The project was entirely Jono's own endevour but he kept us here at Shetland Arts informed of his progress, coming into the office whenever he was home to let us see his latest designs.

The best part is, I'm happy to say that Jono will be starting a year long graduate placement with Shetland Arts on Monday. Welcome aboard Jono!
