SHETLAND Arts have announced the return of Homemade, a popular component of the former film festival Screenplay, with submissions now open for local filmmakers to share their work. As always, there will be two public screenings of the films submitted, on Friday 6 September and Sunday 8 September.

Celebrating its 18th year, Homemade has become a staple to many Shetlanders wanting to showcase their filmmaking prowess. So, whether you want to tell a story, make a joke, create a short documentary or bring to life an animation, we’d love to hear from you. Spring has sprung so get your cameras out and start filming!

Previous curator of Screenplay Kathy Hubbard, Logan Nicolson and Cara McDiarmid will be at the forefront of the Homemade Team, with support from Shetland Arts’ staff to deliver the event.

Submitted films must be no longer than four minutes and suitable for general viewing.

The deadline for film submissions is Wednesday 7 August at midnight.
