As part of Shetland Arts' International Textile Festival we welcome to Shetland a group of eight textile artists from Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, exhibiting along with two Shetland artists in Lighten, an exhibition in Bonhoga Gallery from 3 August to 15 September.

The exhibition will feature 3-dimensional contemporary textile art by ten Nordic and two Shetland artists exploring the Nordic theme of northern seasonal change. The idea began with a conversation between artists from Iceland and Finland and continues in Shetland with the artists and others in a conference on developing contemporary textile cultures. Three of the artists; Agneta Hobin, Gudrun Gunnarsdottir, and Ulla-Maija Vikman originated the international exhibition in collaboration with Shetland Arts.
