SHETLAND Arts looks forward to welcoming feminist comedian Eleanor Conway to Mareel on Sunday 29 October at 7:30pm.

With 250K followers on social media and over 100 million views online, this award-winning stand-up will bring an award nominated sex positive, high energy banger about the 'pleasure gap'.

Eleanor Conway is a comedian and presenter who has been performing nationwide since 2014. Her self-produced debut show tour for ‘Walk of Shame’, detailing her battle with addiction, sold out dates in over 10 countries on a multi-award winning 100 date tour. An advocate for drug and alcohol rehabilitation, in 2018 she hosted Kaleidoscope’s 50th celebration at the House of Lords as well as writing about her experiences dating in sobriety for The Guardian and guesting on BBC’s Woman’s Hour. You may also recognise her from Talk Radio, Sky News, The Mirror and Daily Express.

In a world where women in heterosexual relationships still do the bulk of housework and childcare yet orgasm the least during partnered sex, she asks - are we really that far along in the fight for gender equality? Who really benefits from marriage and babies? And how can straight women finally negotiate equal pleasure in the bedroom?

Conway has said she “cannot wait to come to the Shetlands and do my five star show about the pleasure gap - straight women, we deserve more!
