For  some months, discussions have been taking place with film producer Kathy Proctor about a possible new movie ‘Up Helly Aa’.  Described as ‘a comedy with international appeal’ the storyline starts in Shetland before moving to mainland Scotland. Kathy Proctor and the film director Phil John (‘Downton Abbey’) will be in Shetland over the weekend looking at locations and meeting various individuals.  They have expressed a desire to host a Q&A session with anyone interested in finding out more about the film and the opportunities it might provide for participation.  Shetland Arts is pleased that this session will take place on Friday night at 7.30pm in the Garrison Theatre.  A spokesperson for the film said “This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in film, (filmmakers, actors, technicians etc) to find out more about this exciting project and how they might be involved in any capacity”. For more information contact: John Haswell, Drama Development Officer, Shetland Arts, [email protected], 01595 743 843.
