As part of the events planned during the Screenplay Festival week, Shetland Arts is hosting a meeting to discuss the future priorities for the development of Film in Shetland.

The meeting follows on from those previously held on Theatre and Visual Art and Craft. It will take place in Mareel on 2nd of September at 6.30pm.  The event is free but ticketed, and can be booked through Shetland Box Office. Anybody with an interest in film is encouraged to attend.

Graeme Howell, General Manager of Shetland Arts, said ‘Previous meetings on the development of Theatre and Visual Arts and Craft have been highly productive. With Screenplay just around the corner our thoughts have now turned to film, and the festival presents the ideal opportunity to engage the community in this discussion.’

He added ‘Screenplay brings film enthusiasts together with emerging local talent and established industry professionals, so I hope to hear a wide range of opinions on the night.’

As with previous discussions, the meeting will be followed up by an online survey to gather further feedback, and ensure that all interested parties have an opportunity to have their say.

Further conversations about music, literature, contemporary and traditional arts are planned over the next twelve months.
