Open Winners: Four Journeys from Blue

Barbara and Wilma Cluness: Variorum

Public opening: Friday 20 September 6pm - 8pm For this exhibition Wilma and Barbara Cluness have created an environment, an eclectic mix of artwork, in recycled or new materials. They are Shetland by birth, brought up on a croft in Unst, and have been creating since they were old enough to hold a pen, thread a needle, or ‘clip’ with scissors. They like to recycle, and enjoy working in a wide range of materials and media. Together they have produced commissions in ceramics and public art, and have exhibited in Shetland and Norway. Vanishing Point Theatre Co: Entartet

Public opening: Tuesday 5 November 6pm - 8pm 75 years ago an infamous art exhibition opened in Munich. On display were images and sculptures, which had been raided from public galleries by government officials of the Third Reich. The organisers ridiculed the shown works and marked their creators as degenerate – and dangerous. Entartet is an audio installation that reflects on this exhibition. Using original text from the exhibition’s guidebook, it creates a space to listen, and to imagine what can no longer be seen. Presented by Vanishing Point Theatre Company, Glasgow.
