Shooglenifty
At Mareel.
Standing Event.
Famous the world over for inventing Techno Ceilidh, Acid Croft and Hypnofolkadelia, Shooglenifty's original and exciting sound has launched the band on an international career. A wild uptempo mix of trad talent and super funky phonics melding heritage and hedonism into one unbreakable whole. Shooglenifty is one of Scotland's most unique musical exports, playing an infectious blend of Celtic traditional music and dance grooves that band members describe as “hypno-folkadelic ambient trad.” Their fiery instrumental lyricism, pulsating with infectious rhythm and drive, creates a sound that is at once epic and inclusive, soulful and stirring; and commands a musical presence that takes the crowd by the hands and dances them on an exhilarating romp through unchartered and fiercely exciting new territory. They are sure to provide a night in Mareel to remember - so get your dancing shoes on and come along!

Vanishing Point Theatre Co: Entartet
Public opening: Tuesday 5 November 6pm - 8pm 75 years ago an infamous art exhibition opened in Munich. On display were images and sculptures, which had been raided from public galleries by government officials of the Third Reich. The organisers ridiculed the shown works and marked their creators as degenerate – and dangerous. Entartet is an audio installation that reflects on this exhibition. Using original text from the exhibition’s guidebook, it creates a space to listen, and to imagine what can no longer be seen. Presented by Vanishing Point Theatre Company, Glasgow.
