In July 2022, Shetland Arts, working with Shetland Islands Council, on behalf of greenspace Scotland, appointed Christina Inkster to work with communities to deliver the first phase of the Remembering Together project.

"My role was to engage with the Shetland community on conversations about Covid and the Covid pandemic, finding out the ways in which our lives have been impacted due to Covid. I didn’t venture into this with blind naivety nor had I been chosen for the role on a whim. I am an Artist whose roots are embedded in community based practice." - Christina Inkster

From July to November, Christina met with community groups across the islands to listen to their thoughts and experiences of the pandemic, creating the foundations of how best to memorialise the period of time in a way that supports their values.

Christina pulled everything together into a final report, which can be found on Phase One's page below.

See below the final report put together by Christina for Phase One.
