Volunteering for Shetland Arts
In 2007 Shetland Arts adopted a new Volunteering Policy that was an ambitious and important initiative.
Volunteers change our way of thinking; they challenge our perceptions and processes. They offer a wealth of experience and passion and enthusiasm for the arts by getting involved in what we do.
We have a volunteer Trustee Board which provides a strategic overview and governance. We are now on a journey to enable volunteers young and old to take an active part in shaping Shetland Arts at all levels of our work and organisation. We can also help fund volunteer training opportunities.
To get a feel about working and volunteering for Shetland Arts watch this short film that was made in May 2007.
A lot of us came into working in the arts as volunteers in some way or another and Shetland Arts has a tradition of keen volunteering and enjoyment.
