The 2011 Shetland Folk Festival 'officially' kicked off in style today with the opening concert at the Festival Club in Islesburgh. We say 'officially, as the revelry began for many last night as the visiting musicians  made their way north on the ferry, and expectant local musicians warmed up in Lerwick bars.

We hope everyone has a great time over the festival weekend, and congratulate the Folk Festival Committee on putting together another great line-up of groups and musicians.
