The lower floor of the Weisdale Mill, houses an Art To Go space. Here local work is exhibited and can be removed at time of sale, thus providing visitors to Shetland with the opportunity to purchase a piece of art by local artists without incurring transport costs.
Also on this floor is a wall of dedicated Craft Cases. The Curator selects work by artists from throughout the UK to furnish these displays. All work is for sale and, again, can be removed when purchased. This year we showed our first solo show of work and, as this space develops, it is hoped to have group and solo shows, shows dedicated to one discipline or medium and in future to feature some international makers. On occasion the Development Officer for Craft curates this space with local makers’ work.
