Since 1963 Doctor Who has been one of the best loved dramas and certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful sci-fi series ever. The show has received numerous awards across its 50 years and has seen huge commercial success with over 10 million DVDs and 8 million action figures sold globally. On Sunday 17 November, as part of the celebrations to mark the centenary of Benjamin Britten’s birth, Mareel will show Aldeburgh Music’s Peter Grimes on Aldeburgh Beach. On Sunday 1 December, cinemagoers will get the chance to see David Tennant star in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Richard II. And, also in December, there will be two Bolshoi Ballet screenings: La Corsaire on Sunday 8 December, and Sleeping Beauty on 22 December. Tickets for all these screenings will go on sale on Tuesday 29 October via Shetland Box Office.
