Acclaimed Scottish choreographer Jack Webb brings his explosive dance show The End to Mareel on Saturday 8 October, along with an opportunity for local dancers to take part in the performance.

The End aims to confront the dramatic notion of end points: the end of the world, the end of life as we know it, the end of good, bad and all in between. With a stunning, pulsating soundtrack and a sleazy, dead-of-night set, three dancers explore their own sense of mortality, excess, connection, disconnection and endurance, with mob interjections from a team of local participants.

Jack is seeking ten enthusiastic performers (aged 16 and over) who will take part in two evening workshops in the week before the show and then perform alongside the professional cast at Mareel on 8 October. Jack is keen to include a wide range of participants, who should have some experience of dance and physical performance.

Tickets for the performance are available through Shetland Box Office at Mareel and Isleburgh, over the phone on 01595 745555 or online at www.shetlandboxoffice.org. Potential participants should contact Jack Webb directly to sign up for the workshop - for more information on how to do this see here

Jack is one of Scotland's leading dancers, choreographers and teachers, and has worked and performed internationally with various companies and choreographers over the past decade. Jack was the ‘One to Watch’ winner at the Sunday Herald Scottish Culture Awards 2016. More information available at www.jackwebbperformance.com. There is a trailer for the show here.

The End is a Tramway and BALTIC co-production, supported by Creative Scotland, Dance Base, Citymoves Dance Agency and the generous contributors to a crowdfund campaign.
