Shetland Arts will be screening an Alfred Hitchcock classic, Rear Window, for Film Wednesdays on 13th June, 7.30pm, at The Garrison Theatre.

Adventurer and photographer L.B. 'Jeff' Jeffries (James Stewart) is confined to his apartment with a broken leg. To pass the time he watches the goings-on of his motley assortment of neighbours, including a salesman, Thorwald (Raymond Burr) and his invalid wife.

One day the wife inexplicably disappears, and Jeff suspects that Thorwald may have murdered her. However, he has no proof and no-one believes him. Jeff persuades his girlfriend Lisa (Grace Kelly) and his nurse (Thelma Ritter) to take part in a plan to catch the killer red-handed; but doing so could put all their lives in danger.

Boasting a phenomenally stellar cast, this is a piece of cinematic genius from the master of suspense himself, and was reputed to be one of James Stewart's favourite Hitchcock films.

Rear Window carries a PG certificate and tickets are available from Shetland Box Office at Islesburgh Community Centre, 01595 745555.
