Shetland Arts’ popular Creativity Club is back again for 2018/19!

Creativity Club is a series of arts workshops for 7 - 11 year olds that will encourage creativity and learning across many different artforms. This time around there will be something for everyone, or a whole day of creativity every week, with two artforms running each block! Sunday 4th November - 2nd December sees a Dance session on Sunday morning (11am-1pm) followed by a Poetry session in the afternoon (2-4pm), these can be booked separately or the participants can go to both. They are both led by young local creative practitioners.

The poetry sessions will be led by Peter Ratter, who was recently shortlisted for the prestigious Edwin Morgan award, and loves writing poetry and fantasy stories! Participants will explore a range of writing and poetry skills.

The dance sessions will be led by Molly Williams, a professional highland dancer and has also danced and choreographed many musical theatre productions. She currently runs the North Sea Highland Dancers group as well as the Lerwick Musical Appreciation Society.

Both sessions run for 2 hours (with a short break in the middle - bring snacks!) and will culminate in a sharing for friends and family. The sessions will explore a range of styles, while developing confidence, encouraging creativity and having lots of fun!

Creativity Club can be booked at tickets.shetlandarts.org, over the phone on 01595 745500 or in person at Mareel. Keep an eye out for information on the next blocks of Creativity Club!
