Andrew Dixon Chief Executive of Creative Scotland, the lead agency for Scotland’s arts, screen and creative industries was in Shetland last week. During his packed visit he met with Council officials, Elected Members, key staff from Highland and Islands Enterprise, Shetland Arts, he attended the Creative Industries Networking Event on Wednesday night and made a visit to Yell to meet with Andy Ross at the Centre for Creative Industries.

His visit started with a walk around Mareel, here are Andrew's first impressions of the venue.

Andrew was last in Shetland 34 years ago when he spent 2 weeks on Foula mapping fishing noosts. He plans to return much sooner for the opening of Mareel - which will be much less than 34 years away!
