An exhibition of contemporary children’s book illustration curated by author Julia Donaldson and organised by The Park Gallery, Falkirk and Artlink Central is due to start a tour of the UK following the recent news that Julia Donaldson has been appointed Children’s Laureate. Lois Walpole – urbanbaskets tradition recycled

Lois is an internationally renowned basket-maker who uses natural and recycled materials to create baskets and containers of all shapes and sizes. The exhibition runs until Sunday 1st May 2011.

Basket-making drop-in session for bairns

We just used scraps of string, tape and bits of drinks cartons to make some very simple pots and baskets… the results
