Shetland Box Office is a ticketing service that allows customers to buy tickets for a wide range of events held in Shetland. The delivery of the Shetland Box Office is the result of a special partnership between Shetland Islands Council and Shetland Arts Development Agency with both agencies playing a key role in its development and delivery.Shetland Arts Development Agency is the data controller, the holder of the software license and owner of all data held by the Shetland Box Office system.
Tickets can be bought in person at the reception of Mareel and/or Islesburgh Community Centre, over the phone by calling 01595 745 555 or online at www.shetlandboxoffice.org. Tickets for events in Mareel can also be bought online at www.mareel.org.
The phone booking and online services enable customers to pay by credit card, and their tickets will be waiting for them at the door of the event on arrival, or posted directly to them if purchased more than a week in advance of the event.
Shetland Arts initiated the Shetland Box Office Project in November 2006 – a major new ICT project that aims to deliver a computerised box office system for Shetland. The new system has undergone a phased role out and now provides an online box office, face to face sales and telephone sales. The vision is to provide a one stop shop for all Shetland’s cultural activity, a single place for what’s on information and a 24hr ticket purchasing service from the comfort of your home.
Shetland Arts pulled together a range of agencies to form the Shetland Box Office Project Board following a review of its own customer relationship information and knowledge.
