A Great Gravit, a Plinth and a Hubbard
Posted by Gwilym Gibbons on August 15th, 2009 No CommentsLondon had a very special treat today as Shetland’s famous Great Gravit was taken to dizzy heights accompanied Stuart Hubbard for his 1 hour stint on the Plinth in Trafalgar Square. The Gravit and Stuart took part in Antony Gormley’s One & Other in which Gormley invited the people of the UK to occupy the empty Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, a space normally reserved for statues of Kings and Generals.
You can watch the full hour of the Gravit and Hubbard’s appearance on The Plinth on the One&Other Website.
The Great Gravit and Hubbard found themselves in unlikely company as thousands of spectators swarmed into Trafalgar Square for the World Freerun Championships – many looked up a little bemused, curious and astonished to see Hubbard quietly siting on a Plinth knitting.
