Shetland Arts is seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals and groups for a range of music activities at Mareel (submission information is available at the bottom of this page):
Trad session leaders
Opportunity for individuals or groups to coordinate informal traditional Shetland music sessions in the Mareel café bar on Thursday evenings. An ability to organise and promote events is essential (support will be provided by Shetland Arts staff).
Please include a summary of relevant skills, experience and interests (if you wish to include examples of your playing, please use the Dropbox at the bottom of this page – most formats accepted). Submission info at the bottom of page.
Acoustic session leaders
Opportunity for individuals and groups to coordinate regular informal (primarily) acoustic, ‘open mic’ and singer songwriter sessions in the Mareel café bar. An ability to organise and promote events is essential (support will be provided by Shetland Arts staff).

Resident DJs
Opportunity for DJs of all styles/genres to provide music at a range of events at Mareel inc. Club Nights, support for visiting performers and background music in café bar in afternoons and evenings.
Please include a summary of skills, experience and interests and a ‘mix’ of your work showcasing your skills/ music selection (please use the Dropbox at the bottom of this page – most formats accepted).
Local musicians, bands and groups
A range of performance opportunities for local musicians bands and groups for concerts, gigs and support slots.

Visiting musicians, bands and groups
Opportunity for visiting bands and musicians to be considered for performances at Mareel.
Due to the high volume of interest, unsolicited contact from non-local agents, bands and musicians must include the following:

- Demo recording
- Relevant web links
- Publicity image(s) preferred
